Hi Raphael,
you have to give splitter more memory with e.g. -Xmx4G

Betreff: [mkgmap-dev] Error while using splitter-r652

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I got this error while using spitter-r652 on geofabrik.de germany data:

Exception in thread "producer for SplitProcessor" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded
        at uk.me.parabola.splitter.parser.BinaryMapParser.parseRelations(BinaryMapParser.java:199)
        at crosby.binary.BinaryParser.parse(Unknown Source)
        at crosby.binary.BinaryParser.handleBlock(Unknown Source)
        at crosby.binary.file.FileBlock.process(Unknown Source)
        at crosby.binary.file.BlockInputStream.process(Unknown Source)
        at uk.me.parabola.splitter.OSMFileHandler.process(OSMFileHandler.java:95)
        at uk.me.parabola.splitter.OSMFileHandler$1.run(OSMFileHandler.java:146)

I started it with these parameters:
java -Xmx1024M -jar splitter.jar --output-dir=germany --mapid=30000001 --max-nodes=1500000 --max-areas=150 germany-latest.osm.pbf

I am using java 1.8.0_333 on windows 11.

What does this error saying? Did I do something wrong or is it the splitter code?

Best regards
Raphael
