[mkgmap-dev] manipulating gmapsupp.img

is it possible to manioulate gmapsupp.img contents if it has multiple 
maps included ?
that is, listing, removing, updating included maps ?
listing might have to show those 'mapnames' that have to be unique to be 
really useful, i guess.

i tried searching around, but the search terms seem to be a bit too 
generic to return useful results :)
