For what it's worth, I applied the patch and was able to create a map
of Germany without noticing any problems. I have not yet had a chance
to test properly though, but I'm pretty sure, at least in my case,
that this patch has caused no harm.

Also, although inconvenient, I do at least find the exits support
helpful: In some cases while routing, I manually add exits to the
route, to get better routing. So thanks for your work here.
