[mkgmap-dev] Alternative Source for osm files

Hi all

i just wondered, if there is an alternative source to download osm-files
used by mkgmap. I have the feeling, that the download area from
geofabrik is extremely throttled, may be due to the huge traffic from
all over the world. And if they are really the only source for the
files, than i have to live with. Any solutions ?
