[mkgmap-dev] cities*.zip extract error

The fact that cities15000 is smaller than cities500 is both reasonable 
and normal. There are more cities with a population 500 or more than 
there are cities with a population of 15 000 or more. It is reasonable 
that the compressed versions of these file have the same relationship.
