[mkgmap-dev] --route and --transparent

From Gerd Petermann gpetermann_muenchen at hotmail.com on Thu Feb 15 11:04:37 GMT 2018

Hi Andrzej,

okay, a map created with --transparent and --route doesn't work on MapSource or Basecamp
but seems to work fine on my Oregon 600.
I just remember that the option --transparent has two effects:
1) it sets the flag in the TRE field at offset 0x3f
2) it disables the additional 0x4b background polygons

Maybe only the combination of both actions causes trouble in the PC programs?
Will try that later.

Gerd

Hi Andrzej,

did not try on the device, but I see the same problem in Basecamp with maps created with r4119.

Hi Gerd,

this is a problem of Mapsource. Transparent maps with routing work well
in GPS.
