[mkgmap-dev] Installer not working

From Stéphane MARTIN st3ph.martin at laposte.net on Mon Jan 2 14:37:04 GMT 2017

Hi,

Yes, I think my LinuxMint runs java with UTF-8 the default.

If I try "java -Dfile.encoding=ISO8859_15 mkgmap.jar", I obtain:

$ file 20000000.nsi
20000000.nsi: BSD makefile script, ISO-8859 text

and

$ makensis -V3 20000000.nsi
MakeNSIS v31-Dec-2016.cvs - Copyright 1999-2016 Contributors
See the file COPYING for license details.
Credits can be found in the Users Manual.

Processing script file: "20000000.nsi" (UTF8)
Bad text encoding: 20000000.nsi:36
Error in script "20000000.nsi" on line 36 -- aborting creation process

I suppose when "é" is encountred.

The files:
Style:
http://tuxdomain.darktech.org/osm-garmin/view.php?file=Mayotte/default.7z

Scripts, map, logs:
http://tuxdomain.darktech.org/osm-garmin/view.php?file=Mayotte/work_Mayotte.7z

Hi Steph,

please forget that idea with -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8. I thought you may
use it and I wanted to say that
you should NOT do that.
I've probably missunderstood the problem. You say that you can install
the map but Basecamp doesn't like
it, so I think you probably have an invalid map. You may post a link
with the files generated by mkgmap for
verification.

Gerd
