[mkgmap-dev] Problem with splitter r393

Hi Bernd,

that sounds not good to me. The only wanted effect of the change
is that splitter reports an I/O error instead of failing with an
ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException.
Maybe you have a hardware problem?
