[mkgmap-dev] Missing foot of T-shaped way

I was browsing the map today, and found out that a way is missing from 
the map:

This is the entry of a dead-end residential street (or, the foot of the 
T). Shorter ways nearby do show up fine. Both the "hat" and the "foot" 
of the T carry identical tags, but only the "hat" is visible on the map.  
The "hat" does make a small knick where the foot should be attached.  
This is not near any tile border.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Is the map tile simply too big? I will 
refine the map there to see what happens.
