[mkgmap-dev] Control of Anti-aliasing in Lines

From Bill Lancashire bill.lancashire at o2.co.uk on Sat Apr 9 08:21:16 BST 2011

If I create a line of example width 1px as a 'bitmap' it is not
'anti-aliased' when displayed on the Garmin (GPSMAP 62s). However, if
the 1px line is created as 'line only' on the TYP editor, then the line
is 'anti-aliased' and therefore appears thicker at lower zoom levels.
This anti-aliasing can be seen if the screen is examined with a
magnifying glass.

My question is 'can this anti-aliasing be controlled?. For example,
could one create a complex pattern line as a bitmap and have it
'anti-aliased' as presently I don't see a way to do this?.

Bill.
