[mkgmap-dev] Street search directly supported by mkgmap on GPS device?

At the moment it is not yet implemented. Priority task now is to get the
index running without errors. If this is finished, then the next step
will be to generate directly a gmapsupp.img usable at the devices. This
is an often asked feature on this list. IMHO this should be possible in
not to far away future.

No idea.

The street index is contained as a subfile in the gmapsupp.img, which is
stored on the sdcard/device. It has a slightly other format than the
mdr.img. So it needs some work to get it ready.
