On some units address search seems to work if --index is used.
I think I can recall someone reporting successful address search, 
And I've seen my own maps address search working on an e-trex,
But that was long ago when I knew someone with an e-trex willing to try
my map;)
On my Nuvi 200W and Garmin mobile XT it does not work.
In such cases the option --road-name-pois provides a workaround that
enables 
searching for road names under points of interest. I rely on this
heavily, because a router that does not allow street search is very 
..ehh akward? ..rather useless? .. has limited use.

It will be nice to here from other users which units have successful
address search and which have not.
