either in the Etrex and the Oregon.

But I do not understand the part where the information is put into the map. I think that it is done here: POIRecord.java
Here also the "magic" seems to be done: To encode the data and put it into the real gmapsupp file. After reading this file I understand why it is not easy to put more or other information into the info text. To change this file a deep understanding of the Garmin mapfile structure is needed, I think.

So if you want more information you would need to ask the magician Steve, I suppose. :-)))
