I just compiled clean when deleting ferries from my style-file.

Here's the lines I had to comment out:

# route1=ferry     { name '${name1}'; set toll=yes }                    
[0x06 road_class=1 road_speed=0 resolution 18 continue]
# route=ferry     { name '${name} ferry' | 'ferry'; set toll=yes }     
[0x06 road_class=1 road_speed=0 resolution 18 continue]

route1=ferry are ferries from relations.

Did not notice any improvements on autorouting so far however (only 
tried in Mapsource).
