I have tried this with routing, but not yet noticed a significant
difference. This leads me to strongly believe that I have either
incorrectly applied the patch or that I am incorrectly using the
command line options. I will check this again later.

Since I neither have much time to work on this, nor do I have the
necessary knowledge, I think you can save yourself the effort of
posting your diffs. ;-)
