I have tried other maps and nearly reached 2 GB, so the limit seems to
be the same as for 64-bit machines.

I don't have mono installed on my Linux machine, but wine seems to
suffice by now. I tried BuildDEMFile.exe in a win XP virtual machine,
but it refuses to work with "BuildDEMFile.exe is not a valid win32
application". Does it have any dependency I should install on the XP
machine?
