[mkgmap-dev] Land flooded

From Gary Bamford garybamford at hotmail.com on Mon May 9 07:46:26 BST 2016

Hi Gerd.

I am not sure what you mean by areas that are "empty", or how i specify that in a typ file.

Hi Gary,

hmm, not sure if I understand that. The default value for the option

tells mkgmap to generate land polygons with

natural=land

If I got that right, the default style doesn't create any map objects for

them, only for the sea polygons.

I guess the question is what your style+typ file use as default for areas that are "empty".

Gerd

Hi Gerd.

Thanks for the reply, I have a solution for it, I said I don't use any options within the sea coomand, so it was just

--precomp-sea="zip file name"

I had no generate-sea command. once I added

--generate-sea=land-tag=natural=background

The sea behaved itself.

I didn't realise the two had to be used together.

Gary

Hi Gary,

it seems that nobody has an idea, so maybe it is related to the device?

Did it work with older versions of the precompiled sea ?

Is all the country land flooded ?

when i use the --precomp-sea= option with a file download from http://osm2.pleiades.uni-wuppertal.de/sea/latest/sea.zip

I get the sea flooding the land, I don't use any options, it seems to be fine when viewed on Basecamp, but not when i put the map on to a hcx legend.
