[mkgmap-dev] [Patch v2] sharp angles

From Felix Hartmann extremecarver at gmail.com on Wed Sep 2 22:08:11 BST 2015

well it was not really worse - just the overall distance/time got longer.

E.g. - a rather funny routing here:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/48.07560/16.27225&layers=T

Driving (Motorcycling and so on)

Bicycle Modes (note that it goes further onwards - then back. Dunno why it
thinks this is faster - but I have several routable lines on top of each
other here:

The avoided sharp angle is only taken in the pedestrian modes:

And now the worst results - huge detour in ATV/Dirt Biking mode (170
instead of 72m respectively 142m):

Or just a bit to the south - see what happens here:
- all modes except pedestrian ones route to the end, make a U-Turn - and
then enter the way - instead of just doing the sharp angle turn.... (but
please don't ask me why Garmin thinks a U turn is faster).

- Oh and here (a little bit more south) I actually found a degradation:

Sorry for the pics - I assume they will not make it over the list - but
Gerd you should get them...
