[mkgmap-dev] mkgmap build greater than 3113 routes through barriers with access=no

From Gerd Petermann gpetermann_muenchen at hotmail.com on Wed Aug 6 13:19:38 BST 2014

Hi Ervin,

I tried with your style and with the mkgmap default style, but I can't reproduce a problem
at this barrier. Cars are not routed through it.
Tested with MapSource 6.16.3 and Basecamp 4.3.3
What program are you using? What exactly are your settings reg. routing?

Additionally, osm id of the barrier is http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1083303271 as an example. Although tested that the issue happens on all barriers with access=no.

Hi Ervin,

okay, that is more plausible. Please give a few more details:
Do you see that problem also with the default style?
Is it possible that the barrier is on a tile border?

It happens to all barriers with access=no so more probably it is not because it is on a tile border.

If you download a small area around that barrier, do you see the

same problem?

Still the same

What routing options are you using (bike, car, etc) and
what is the OSM id of the barrier?

Using car routing

If you like, just post a link to your input files and the mkgmap

options so that we can reproduce the problem.

I'm using the style here https://github.com/schadow1/osmphgps . Latest pbf file of the Philippines from geofabrik.

I apologize, I was trying to find the latest released build of mkgmap since March 17 2014 as that was the last version of the map that worked. Just saw that generated that working map with mkgmap 3080. Anything after that have this issue.

.. and also 3114 did not change something which could explain that.

Just noticed that the mkgmap build greater than 3113 is allowing routing through barriers with access=no.

I have not changed the style since then except that I upgraded to a new mkgmap build and routing through gates with access=no is possible.
