[mkgmap-dev] link-pois-to-ways POI tags

From Gerd Petermann gpetermann_muenchen at hotmail.com on Tue Dec 31 14:07:50 GMT 2013

Hi WanMil,

I see quite a lot of nodes which are not useful for the link-poi-to-ways
feature, so it is probably better to filter them in HighwayHooks.
I found one that we ignore today:
railway=level_crossing or railway=crossing

So, maybe we can pass the filter list via an optional
parameter to the link-pois-to-ways option, e.g.
--link-pois-to-ways=barrier,highway,railway

Another option:
HighwayHook passes the node to a method like StyledConverter.convertNode()
and checks the tags after that.

Hi WanMil,

If I got that right we create CoordPOI for
a limited number of nodes to save memory.
I have no idea how many nodes are filtered out
by this rule in HighwayHooks.
