Similar on a GPSmap 60CSx.
With --lower-case, the lower case characters in street names show up as
something similar to “.” in the map, but show up fine in the tooltip,
including the “ß”.

In POIs, the lower case characters including ß show up fine in both
map and tooltip.

I agree: the mixed letter case in POI names looks nicer IMHO and
takes up less space.
