Hi all,

I've committed r252:
- remove some warnings (from eclipse juno) reg. missing close()
- don't create tiles larger than 85° lat or 90° lon
- cut large empty areas if splitting doesn't find nice solution

In most cases splitter will find a nice split within a few seconds.
A few problems remain open:
1) output of the area.poly file
2) handling of complex polygon files containing areas with diagonal lines.
For now, these
are simply approximated with the bounding box (of each single area).
No test is done until now to make sure that polygons have no holes
3) trimming is completely disabled for now. I did not yet find a nice
algorithm
that trims tiles in a way so that no gaps are created. This is needed when
complex 
polygons are used to filter data.
