Found something: (either change in mkgmap source, or with gmaptool on 
the gmapsupp.img):
set "TRE 0-4-23" and it might work.

This is the process to make "old" blue chart maps compatible with newer 
units that accept maps like City Navigator but not old blue chart (like 
gpsmap 620).
