... and you might want to check
dpkg --status sun-java6-jdk|grep Version
... too: 6-17-0ubuntu1.8.04 is what should be your current version on
hardy; as there is a java problem when you have only the package from
hardy. You need hardy-proposed in your package list. (At least that is
what I experienced).
