The FT had an article about this at the weekend.  Some interesting stats:
* One-third of the world's population and one-third of the world's  
countries drive on the left
* Of the world's 10 most populous nations, 5 drive on the left (India,  
Indonesia, Pakistan, Japan and Bangladesh).
* Samoa switched from right to left earlier this month
